- What is the composition of Cys-Control®?
- The active ingredient in Cys-Control® is cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) which is of 100% North American origin. It is the only species of cranberry with proven properties to combat urinary problems.
Cys-Control® sachet or capsule provides 36 mg of PAC [DMAC] (proanthocyanidins) per day, in accordance with the advice of the AFSSA (Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Aliments) in April 2004.The sachet format comprises atomised cranberry juice produced from the juice of squeezed berries. This juice is then dried on a base in order to preserve all the active properties of cranberry. The capsule form comprises the same ingredient, to which is added a cranberry extract with a high PAC (proanthocyanidin) content in order to guarantee the provision of 36 mg of PAC per day in two doses.
- Why prioritise cranberry?
Because to date, no plant other than cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) has demonstrated such effectiveness and usefulness in the prevention of recurrences and in the fight against urinary problems of bacterial origin!
This plant has been the subject of numerous scientific and clinical studies and its effectiveness has been recognised by the French authorities with:
- The AFSSA (Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Aliments) in 2004 that produced a report, the conclusions of which were: “Powdered cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) juice helps to prevent the adhesion of certain E.coli bacteria to the walls of the urinary tract".
- In 2008, the AFSSAPS (Agence Française Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits de Santé) also recognised the properties of cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon), an extract of the conclusion of which is provided below: “Cranberry-based products are available in French dispensaries in the form of tablets and juices. They could be of interest for the treatment of recurring urinary infections in women, allowing a reduction in the consumption of antibiotics. Indeed, although they do not replace antibiotic treatment of cystitis, by preventing recurrences they avoid the need for repetitive antibiotic treatment. »
- How does cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) act?
- The action of cranberry is essentially due to the proanthocyanidins, commonly known as PAC. They perform a mechanical action on Escherichia. coli, bacteria responsible for 80 to 85 % of urinary problems.
Indeed, PACs adhere themselves to the extremity of the E.coli’s pili or fimbriae (which in layman's terms are the arms and hands that allow them to attach themselves to the wall of the bladder), thus preventing the bacteria from adhering themselves to the walls of the urinary tract.
Furthermore, the active ingredients of cranberry attack the biofilm (a sort of glue that bacteria form in order to stick to one another and colonise the surface of the urinary tract).
Bacteria that are not yet attached are thus eliminated without having succeeded in reproducing themselves while those already fixed are detached and also eliminated by the urinary tract. This therefore avoids infection or propagation.
Cranberry is also recognised for its ability to acidify the urine, which disrupts the proliferation of Escherichia coli bacteria.
- What are the instructions for use of Cys-Control®?
- 1 sachet morning and evening or 1 tablet morning and evening is enough.
In the case of urinary problems of bacterial origin, it is essential to follow the instructions for use precisely, as a scientific study has demonstrated that the PACs are totally eliminated through natural means between 10 and 12 hours after being taken.
For optimal effectiveness throughout the day, 2 doses are necessary at 12-hourly intervals. After Cys-Control® has been taken, the PACs are present in the bladder between the 2nd and 3rd hour and begin their action on the Pili or fimbriae of the E.coli.
In the case of urinary problems of bacterial origin it is advisable to use Cys-Control® (sachet or capsule) morning and evening with or in a glass of water. In order to help you to avoid recurrences, you are advised to use Cys-Control® for 20 days. The dose may be reduced to one sachet or tablet per day depending on the frequency of the urinary problems.
Drink abundantly throughout the day, at least one and a half litres of water.
If no improvement occurs, seek the advice of your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
A nutritional supplement is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of the reach of children. Cys-Control® must be kept away from light, heat and humidity.
- When should Cys-Control® be used?
- Burning or tingling sensation when urinating,
- Pressure in the lower belly with a constant urge to urinate,
- Urine giving off an unpleasant odour,
- After sexual relations, within a maximum of 12 hours,
- Before and after a clinical operation
- Before and during a urinary catheterisation,
- To prevent the recurrence of urinary problems.
- What indications are there ?
Cys-Control® may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding!
Furthermore, diabetics must take note of the sugar content in powdered cranberry juice, which is why we recommend Cys-Control® in capsule form which has a low sugar content.
- Cys-Control®’s quality commitment
- There is some debate as to the method of PAC dosage in the various cranberry-based products. Several methods exist and not all give the same results.
For the purposes of comparison, 36 mg of PAC were analysed with the 4 existing methods and it may be noted that the results can vary from 1 to 5 according to the method used, as the graph below demonstrates:
